School board member, citizens angry that students were shown a video supporting gay marriage

(Kids React to Gay Marriage)

JANESVILLE, Wis. – Janesville school board member Bill Sodemann fully supports all efforts to curb bullying in public schools, regardless of who’s being bullied or for what reason.

But someone in one of the district’s high schools managed to turn an anti-bullying theme into a pro-gay marriage theme, and Sodemann thinks that went too far.

Sodemann and the rest of the school board were aware that Craig High School planned to have a so-called “Day of Silence” April 12 to protest the bullying of openly gay students, or those suspected by classmates of being gay.

The day was sponsored by the school’s Gay-Lesbian Alliance, a student-based organization.

But Wednesday morning Sodemann learned that most of the students in the school had spent their Advisory class time on that day watching a video called “Kids Respond to Gay Marriage,” which clearly promotes the concept of gay marriage.

New Hampshire dad: School officials have never notified parents about smutty novel

(The Kelly File)

GILFORD, N.H. – The New Hampshire dad who was arrested at his district’s school board meeting on Monday night after protesting a pornographic reading assignment offered some new insights into the controversy during an appearance on Fox News.

William Baer told Fox News’ Megyn Kelly on Wednesday that Gilford School District officials admitted to him that they’ve never notified parents about the controversial nature of Jodi Picoult’s novel “Nineteen Minutes” before it was assigned to students in previous school years.

That revelation contradicts what Gilford school officials told the public when this controversy broke late last week.
In a May 2 “informational statement” sent to EAGnews, Superintendent Kent Hemingway, school board president Sue Allen and Gilford High School Principal Peter Sawyer wrote: “In past years, use of ‘Nineteen Minutes’ included notification sent home to parents for approval. That procedure was not followed this past Monday (when the book was assigned).”

EPA Head: If You Have An Energy Star Appliance You Should Believe In Global Warming.

Just when you thought that members of the Obama Administration couldn’t say anything more ridiculous, in steps in the Gina McCarthy.

According to an article on Front Page Mag.com, Gina McCarthy says that if you have an Energy Star sticker on your appliance, then you should believe in Global Warming:

EPA Chief Gina McCarthy is really trying to live up to the standards of her lunatic predecessor with her latest rant.

After claiming that Global Warming was holding back millions of African-Americans, she said something even dumber.“It’s worrisome that our science seems to be under constant assault by a small — but vocal — group of critics,” McCarthy said.

“I bet when those same critics get sick, they run to doctors and hospitals that rely on science from — guess who — Harvard University and the American Cancer Society,” McCarthy continued. “I bet they check air quality forecasts from EPA and the National Weather Service to see if the air is healthy enough for their asthmatic child to play outside that day. I bet they buy dishwashers with Energy Star labels, and take FDA-approved medicine, and eat USDA-approved meats. … People and businesses around the world look to EPA and other federal agencies because our science is reliable, and our scientists are credible.”

Deep Pockets? EPA Issues $500k In Unauthorized Bonuses

If you’ve been walking around lately and felt as if your wallet is suddenly a little lighter, it may be thanks to the EPA.

According to an article on the Free Beacon, the EPA used almost $500,000 of your tax payer dollars to issue unauthorized bonuses:

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) paid out nearly $500,000 in unauthorized bonuses, according to a report released by the EPA Inspector General Friday.

An Inspector General (IG) investigation found that 11 EPA employees received $481,819 in unauthorized retention bonuses between 2006 and 2013. The bonuses are meant to incentivize employees who receive other job offers.

The bonuses are supposed to be reauthorized annually, but for 10 of those EPA officials, the IG could find no evidence that their bonuses were reviewed, as required by federal regulations and EPA policies.

One EPA employee received $77,204 in unauthorized pay over five years, even though he had only been approved for a one-year retention bonus.

Another employee received incentive pay for four years totaling nearly $105,000, even though the bonus should have been terminated in 2009 because he was promoted.

The IG cited confusion, lack of internal controls, and failure by managers and employees to follow up on notices.

(ABC News)

While the EPA feels that they should be able to track the amount of carbon created by a coal fired power plant, they can’t seem to even keep track of their own Government issued passports.

According to an article on EE News.net, a report has been released stating that the EPA has lost Hundreds of government issued passports:

U.S. EPA’s international affairs office lost track of about 200 passports purported to be in its possession, according to a new report from the agency’s watchdog.

The audit released today by the EPA Office of Inspector General found that 199 of the 417 employee passports reportedly in the possession of the Office of International and Tribal Affairs couldn’t be located.

The office failed to enforce its passport guidance of having staff return passports after travel, the report said. “Lack of compliance with agency guidance may put the agency in the position where sensitive personally identifiable information is not being adequately protected.”

The audit was conducted as part of a broader probe into EPA’s policies in the wake of the fraud of former top air official John Beale, who’s now in prison for lying for years about doing secret work for the CIA while stealing government salary and benefits.

(Facepalm) Teens Suing Feds For Not Having A Plan To Fight Climate Change

There are some news stories that make a person take pause and give thanks for their lives and for their blessings. Then there are those that are so ridiculous that they make your eyes bleed and all you can do to stop the pain is to cover your face with your hands, like this next article.

According to an article on Natural World News.com, a group of teens in California are suing the Federal Government because they don’t have a plan to fight Climate Change:

A group of California youth is suing a slew of government agencies, including the EPA, for failing to develop a plan of action against climate change.

The plaintiffs demand that the federal government immediately devise a climate recovery strategy to avoid 2 degrees C of warming above preindustrial levels. Commonly touted as the amount of flex room humans have before a deadly degree of climate change is unleashed across the planet, the threshold is something of a best-case-scenario at this point, according to researchers, who warn the planet is on track to reach twice that by the end of the century. What’s more, a recent study by James Hansen, former director of NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies, cautions that even 2 C is too much if “young people, future generations and nature” are to be spared “irreparable harm.

One would almost hate to point out the fact, to this batch of “California’s brightest”, that the earth hasn’t warmed in over 15 years, except they would probably just cry “climate denier” or maybe ball up into the fetal position and just cry.  Either way not worth the effort.
