Despite Sham Election, Obama Calls Ethiopia’s Government “Democratically Elected”

Obama was in Ethiopia Monday and praised the country’s “democratically elected government.”

Even the reliably left-wing New York Times pointed out the absurdity of Obama’s remarks:

Obama Calls Ethiopian Government ‘Democratically Elected’

Though human rights groups had called on Mr. Obama to use his visit to press for change, the president took a mild tone in his public remarks. He gently urged the Ethiopian government to make room for opposition, while stressing his respect for the country and its challenges in emerging from a long era of monarchy and autocracy.

“We are very mindful of Ethiopia’s history, the hardships that this country has gone through,” Mr. Obama said at a joint news conference with Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn. “It has been relatively recently which the Constitution that was formed, and elections put forward a democratically elected government.” He added that “there is still more work to do, and I think the prime minister is the first to acknowledge that there is more work to do.”

The elections in May were condemned by human rights groups as a sham. The government made it hard for opposition candidates to register, raise money and mobilize supporters, according to watchdog groups. Peaceful protesters were denied permits, harassed and in some cases arrested. News organizations were shut down and reporters harassed, threatened or arrested.

Susan Rice, the stooge the Obama administration sent out to five Sunday shows to blame Benghazi on a YouTube video, acknowledged that Ethiopia’s government wasn’t democratically elected.

Politico reported:

Obama differs from top aides over Ethiopia’s democracy

At the White House the day before the president left for Africa, Rice was asked specifically if she considered the Ethiopian prime minister to be “democratically elected.” She said that the purported 100 percent support that Hailemariam supposedly won suggests “some concern for the integrity of the electoral process — at least if not in the outcomes, then in some of the mechanisms that supported the process, the freedom for the opposition to campaign.”

Pressed to clarify whether she thought that made the prime minister a democratically elected leader, Rice smirked and pointed again to the election results: “100 percent.”

Even MSNBC Can’t Cover For Hillary’s Private Email Server

The issue of Hillary Clinton’s email server isn’t going away any time soon, especially now that it’s been referred for investigation. It seems there was some classified information on the server after all.

How bad have things gotten when even the far left cable network MSNBC can’t spin the story to cover for her.

Howard Kurtz of FOX News notes the mess Clinton now finds herself in:

Hillary Clinton’s email mess has been like a low-grade fever that keeps returning in nastier form.

And the problem is she’s never taken the cure—by answering all the outstanding questions—as part of her media-averse approach.

Now the Clinton campaign is on the offense against the New York Times, branding its latest story on the controversy “false” and “discredited.”

“This incident shows the danger of relying on reckless, inaccurate leaks from partisan sources,” the campaign says.

Well, we don’t know the sources. There were some problems with the story, but that doesn’t make it false. The gist is true—inspectors general have asked the Justice Department to consider an investigation of whether Hillary’s private emails as secretary of State contained classified information. She has always denied that was the case. And she insisted again to reporters in Iowa on Saturday, “I did not send nor receive anything that was classified at the time.”

UN Wants Parents Arrested For Spanking Their Children At Home

Prisoner+in+jail+cell+prison(Image: SC)

The United Nations tries its best to stick its Progressive, controlling tentacles into everything. From how oil companies should react to Climate Change, to how much food you should consume, the UN is more than happy to dictate every aspect of everyone’s lives. And recently, even how you should punish your children in your own home.

A new UN Human Rights report states that parents in the United Kingdom should not have the right to use “corporal punishment”, aka spank, their children at home and that all legal protections allowing such behavior should be removed:

“Corporal punishment

  1. The Committee remains concerned that corporal punishment is still not fully outlawed in the home and certain educational and alternative care facilities in the United Kingdom and in almost all British Crown Dependencies and Overseas Territories. It is further concerned about the lack of explicit prohibition of corporal punishment in the home and the existing legal defences of “reasonable punishment” in England, Wales and Northern Ireland or “justifiable assault” in Scotland (arts. 7 and 24).

The State party should take practical steps, including through legislative measures where appropriate, to put an end to corporal punishment in all settings, including the home, throughout United Kingdom and all Crown Dependencies and Overseas Territories, and repeal all existing legal defences across the State party’s jurisdiction. It should encourage non-violent forms of discipline as alternatives to corporal punishment, and conduct public information campaigns to raise awareness about its harmful effects.”

So the United Nations wants parents arrested for spanking their child at home, but if a mother chooses to murder her child through “family planning” it’s a human right which should be encouraged and protected??

With a moral compass as skewed as that, the next thing you know a UN official will suggest that we need to “make every effort” to decrease the global population in order to fight Climate Change ..or some other ridiculous notion.

Oh.. wait.. they already have.

Media Tried to Force Louisiana Governor Jindal to Talk About Gun Control Right After Shooting

If you need further proof that most of the people who work in the mainstream media are just liberal activists with a press pass, here you go.

Less than 24 hours after the shooting in Lafayette, reporters were pressing Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal for a commitment to new gun control measures.

Jindal deserves credit for shutting these ghouls down and doing it with class.

Watch it all below:

Progressives will never stop pushing for gun control and their allies in our media will help them whenever they can, no matter how tasteless they appear.

Democrats Suddenly Worried About Their Party’s Shift to the Far Left

Democrats should be concerned. When you’re standing on the far left, even the center looks too conservative.

Politico reports:

Red-state Democrats fret about leftward shift

Governor’s races in South and Midwest could be lost if party brand becomes too liberal.

Centrist Democrats were wiped out in the 2014 elections and in their absence emerged a resurgent liberal movement, embodied most recently by the surprisingly competitive presidential campaign of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.

But the suddenly ascendant left — its populist overtones becoming part of the mainstream Democratic pitch — is worrying Democrats who want to compete on Republican-leaning turf. The party lost every competitive gubernatorial and Senate race in the South last year. And Democrats didn’t fare much better in the heartland.

Now, as Bernie Sanders’ surge foreshadows a new burst of progressivism, moderate Democrats are looking to their counterparts in Washington with a plea: Don’t freeze us out.

Let’s not forget that this is the party which booed God and Israel at their last national convention and is now defending the harvesting of organs from unborn babies.

The communist Occupy movement was embraced by many Democrats and progressive favorite Elizabeth Warren claimed to be its intellectual founder.

Suggesting that Democrats have drifted to the far left is an understatement.

They’re openly anti-American.

Public Foots Legal Bills For Oregon Corruption

16673401-mmmainAs the Federal investigation begins to contact witnesses and prepare subpoenas for those in and around ex Oregon Governor John Kitzhaber’s staff, the state has ruled that each person can get up to $35,000 of their legal bills covered by public dollars.

Additionally, the state of Oregon may have had a Freudian Slip. They say that if an employee is taken to court involving official duties, then that employee should not have to pay their legal bill. In this case, the state is essentially saying that colluding with special interest groups, to funnel public dollars to the Governor’s friends, using funds that were stolen from the Feds by forging documents, is an “official duty” of public employees.

The Oregonian reports:

David Allaway, a Department of Environmental Quality staffer who in a 2013 email documented Hayes mixing her state and private roles, was approached by federal agents on March 3 and alerted that he would be subpoenaed for a grand jury.

The state has approved 13 employees for coverage so far. Of those, five have submitted legal bills for payment. The biggest bill to date is for Kitzhaber’s energy adviser, Margaret “Margi” Hoffman, who requested $12,915 to pay her lawyer, Kevin Sali. Hoffman was subpoenaed on Feb. 23 to appear before the federal grand jury in March, records show.

The program stems from a long-standing state policy that essentially says if employees are taken to court for performing state duties, it isn’t fair to make them foot their own legal bills. It applies to both civil and criminal cases.

An employee’s application to cover legal fees must be approved by a review committee. They must submit written evidence that they’ve been contacted by law enforcement.

Already, the state has supplied the federal investigators with more than two million records, according to the Oregon Department of Justice.

Other state employees approved for funding include: DEQ staffers Allaway and Palmer Mason; Michael Jordan, former director of the Department of Administrative Services; Sean McGuire, who worked on a Hayes project; and Tracy Osburn and Adrian Turpin, employees of the state’s data warehouse.

The state is still considering applications from four other employees: Kitzhaber scheduler Jan Murdock; Kitzhaber aide Dan Carol; Tim Raphael, a Kitzhaber spokesman and campaign consultant; and economic adviser Scott Nelson.

Soros Media: Scott Walker Is A Dictator In Waiting

19-great-dictator.w529.h352.2x(Image: Vulture.com)

Many of us on the right would argue that during Obama’s Presidential term he has been anything but Presidential. Some would even go so far as to claim that the President has been acting like a despot, a tyrant, and even a dictator (and rightfully so).

But taking a page from the Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals, the George Soros funded Progressive news, Alternet, claims that the real danger to the Republic, the real “dictator in waiting” is Republican Presidential hopeful Scott Walker:

“I find [him] more Nixonian than even Richard Nixon himself (the authoritarian leader with whom I was, and am, so very familiar,” wrote ex-Nixon White House Counsel John Dean in April 2012, on the eve of a special gubernatorial recall election Walker won. “To me, it is clear that Wisconsin has a double high authoritarian governor, a conservative without conscience.”

Today, three years later, Walker is parading around the campaign trail like an American dictator in waiting. He has a lengthy record on so many issues that reveal the same pattern: pick fights, launch sneak attacks, smear and scapegoat opponents, and then punish the defeated, according to Wisconsin media analysts. But he also has the personality of an aspiring American tyrant, as Dean noted. Walker may not be Wisconsin Sen. Joe McCarthy’s ghost, but he certainly is heir to that anti-communist crusader’s hateful lineage.

“Democracy and democratic institutions do not function well with dogmatic, unbending authoritarian leaders,” Dean wrote. “Authoritarians are great as dictators, and even at times benevolent. They are often outstanding at running businesses, and when serving as high-ranking officers in the military, not to mention law enforcement.  But they are failures as presidents and governors, and… dangerous to democracy.”

The sad irony of Alternet article is the fact that same exact description given to Walker in the 2nd paragraph (pick fights, launch sneak attacks, smear and scapegoat opponents, punish the defeated) are exactly the same tactics President Obama has used during his entire administration.

So, as it is with all Progressives, the left isn’t afraid of dictators (if they were they would be more critical of Obama)….just supposed dictators who don’t agree with their agenda…and use their own tactics against them.

“People Of Color Are Allowed To Be Angry” Says Huff Po

Huff Po WritersThe 20-somethings at Huffington Post are attempting to enlighten world, once again, on why people of certain skin tones should feel certain ways.

In the article “11 Things White People Need To Realize About Race”, writers Emma Gray and Jessica Samakow tell white people how to think, “The same way men need to be forced to confront, interrogate and reckon with masculinity in order to address sexism, white people need to face their whiteness. And it is not the responsibility of people of color to educate white people about race.”

Here are some of the highlights:

1. Because whiteness is viewed as the “default,” white people have the privilege of distancing themselves from the concept of race or denying it altogether. The first step towards combating structural racism is acknowledging its existence — and the ways in which cultural ideas about whiteness prop up those structures.

2. Confronting privileges and structures far larger than yourself — ones which you may feel you have little-to-no control over or no idea how to change — will always be uncomfortable. But… tough shit. “The entire discussion of race in America centers around the protection of White feelings,” wrote Metta. (See: “white fragility.”)

3. Pretending that you don’t see race simply means that you haven’t had to. Guess what? That’s the epitome of privilege.

4. You need to recognize that you benefit from white privilege in order to move the conversation forward.

You don’t get to choose whether you benefit from white privilege or not — it’s the structures in place that automatically grants it to you. Denying that only makes you complicit in continuing that cycle.

5. #BlackLivesMatter doesn’t suggest that other lives don’t — it’s about making sure that black lives do.

6. People of color are allowed to be angry about racism. Don’t dismiss that anger, take it in.

As white people, we have to accept that anger is a natural response to being systematically oppressed. And it can be an effective tool.

Hillary Clinton Has Lied About Her Email At Least Five Times

Granted, these are the five lies about her email that we know of so far. There could be more.

The GOP has compiled a list:

#1: CLINTON SAYS SHE NEVER SENT CLASSIFIED EMAILS

Clinton: “I Did Not Email Any Classified Material To Anyone On My Email. There Is No Classified Material.” HILLARY CLINTON: “I did not email any classified material to anyone on my email. There is no classified material. So I’m certainly well-aware of the classification requirements and did not send classified material.” (Hillary Clinton,Press Conference, New York, NY 3/10/15)

Clinton Sent At Least Four Emails From Her Private Account That Contained Classified Information. “An internal government review found that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton sent at least four emails from her personal account containing classified information during her time heading the State Department.” (Byron Tau, “Hillary Clinton Sent Classified Information Over Email While At State Department, Review Finds,” Wall Street Journal, 7/24/15)

  • The Findings Were Only From A Small Sample And The Total Amount Of Emails That Contained Classified Information Could Be Much Higher. “The inspector general reviewed just a small sample totaling about 40 emails in Mrs. Clinton’s inbox-meaning that many more in the trove of more than 30,000 may contain potentially confidential, secret or top-secret information.” (Byron Tau, “Hillary Clinton Sent Classified Information Over Email While At State Department, Review Finds,”Wall Street Journal, 7/24/15)

Obama Says His Biggest Frustration is Inability to Impose Greater Gun Control

In a recent interview, Obama stated that the greatest frustration of his presidency has been his inability to pass new gun laws. The Second Amendment really seems to bother him.

Here’s what he said:

“If you ask me where has been the one area where I feel that I’ve been most frustrated and most stymied, it is the fact that the United States of America is the one advanced nation on Earth in which we do not have sufficient common-sense gun-safety laws,” Obama said, “even in the face of repeated mass killings.”

Obama continued: “And, you know, if you look at the number of Americans killed since 9/11 by terrorism, it’s less than 100. If you look at the number that have been killed by gun violence, it’s in the tens of thousands. And for us not to be able to resolve that issue has been something that is distressing. But it is not something that I intend to stop working on in the remaining 18 months.”

Here’s the video:

Obama’s desire to impose greater gun control might have something to do with this:

Gun production has doubled under Obama

Gun production has more than doubled over the course of the Obama administration, according to a new report from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

The manufacturing boom has come in the face of the president’s push to expand background checks and place new restrictions on guns in the wake of high-profile shootings like the recent mass-killing in Charleston, S.C., and the 2012 massacre at a Newtown, Conn., elementary school.

The numbers paint a picture of gun owners who are concerned about new restrictions on their Second Amendment rights, activists say.

Germany has the strictest gun laws in the world but shootings still happen there.
