UN Climate Official: Fighting Global Warming Is “Creating A New Reality For The World”

Christiana Figueres, the same United Nations Climate official who stated that we should “make every effort” to reduce the World’s population in order to fight Climate Change, is now also praising the leaders of local governments for taking up the fight against man-made Global Warming.

Business Insider reports that while speaking to a gathering in France, Secretary Figueres not only voiced that she is pleased with the actions of local governments on the Climate Change..errr, Global Warming front, but that their actions are actually creating a “new reality for the world”:

Christiana Figueres, the United Nations’ top climate change official, told a gathering in France of local leaders from around the world that the actions of cities and regional governments to curb global warming offered huge benefits in public transport, cleaner air and better waste management.

You are doing nothing less than creating a new reality for the world,” she said. “You are making possible that we are moving toward a low-carbon, high-growth society – both of those together.”

Considering that “new reality” consists of making every effort to reduce the population of the world while simultaneously redistributing the wealth, I would like to say they can keep it. I’m sure most Americans prefer their reality the way it is. Or at least, the way it was before Progressives began to fundamentally change it.

Oregon Democrats Want Public Scholarships For Illegal Aliens

17602791-standardMore publicly funded welfare is headed to illegal aliens, this time by way of “free” college tuition, paid for by the working residents of Oregon.

Oregon Senator Michael Dembrow is the chief sponsor of SB 932, which would open up state funded scholarships to “undocumented students”. The program that disperses the state aid is the Oregon Opportunity Grant, and it currently provides $55 Million in funds for approximately 35,000 students.

The bill has passed the Oregon Senate on a 17-11 vote, with Senator Betsy Johnson being the lone democrat to vote against it, and has passed the Joint Ways & Means committee and is currently sitting on the House Speaker Tina Kotek’s desk.

Senator Dembrow is quoted by KATU News as saying:

“Against great odds, they’ve done what it takes to get through high school, and are the first in their family to attempt higher education. They are exactly the kind of kids we should be investing in,” Dembrow said.

Opponents have argued the grant program is already underfunded and doesn’t meet the needs of resident students.

An analysis from the nonpartisan Legislative Fiscal Office said around 1,000 additional students every year could qualify for state aid under the bill. It concluded that without additional funds to the grant program, the proposal could make the awards slightly more competitive and possibly even skew the grants toward the new student population.

Currently, about 40 percent of the 120,000 students eligible for aid actually receive a grant, and each receives an average of $2,000.

KOIN 6 News further reports:

“First of all, remember these students have grown up in Oregon, graduated from an Oregon high school,” he said. “We don’t think it will be a significant burden on the large population, but will do huge things for those students that qualify.”

KOIN 6 News learned the state is also increasing the amount of money they put into the grant program.

No quotes can be found from Dembrow regarding the students of families who have been in Oregon for multiple generations who will find themselves pushed out of the scholarships due to the extra competition. Nor does Dembrow have anything to say about the funds that would have to be diverted from other education areas in order to pay for this. However, Senator Dembrow can be seen in a video from Sheriff Joe counter protest, as he and state Reps Alissa Keny-Guyer and Joe Gallegos play on their phones and chat among themselves while the national anthem is playing.

You may recall that Oregon is one of the states with its own version of the “DREAM Act”, allowing illegal aliens to quality for in state tuition.

Anti-Capitalist Activist Invited To Vatican Wrote: “The Pope Is On Our Side”

If the fact that Cardinal Wuerl recently keynoted an Anti-Free Market / Anti-Libertarian Conference left you wondering if the Catholic Church was truly against Capitalism, the Vatican”s latest official invitation should remove all doubt.

Anti-Capitalist activist Naomi Klein was officially invited to the Vatican to attend a conference on Climate Change. But days before the AP broke the story, Naomi Klein wrote an article titled: “The Pope is on Our Side…But This July We Must Mobilize“. In the article she praised the Pope and mentioned that the Pope’s radical agenda echoed her radical, Progressive, Climate agenda:

But there is no denying it: Pope Francis  rocked the world last week by connecting the need for a fair economy with the need to to take bold action on climate. He has said clearly that we cannot separate these goals — there can be no serious climate action without confronting the logic of unchecked greed and the culture of limitless consumption.

We don’t have to agree with the Catholic Church on everything – I certainly don’t – to celebrate the fact that the Pope has just echoed the central call of the global climate justice movement.

That’s why I am going to the Vatican on July 1st to participate in events surrounding the encyclical.”

So if it wasn’t obvious to you before, it should be obvious to even a blind man now. Unlike Christ, the Catholic Church now subscribes to the Marxist belief of Collective Salvation. Where wealth is stolen and redistributed; all in the name of the poor and the planet.

But one question remains.

If the Pope is on the side of Marxists, then who is on ours?
