Child Rapist Guest Speaker At College’s “Whiteness” Event

vlcsnap-2016-06-30-18h32m27s160During “whiteness history month” this past April at Portland Community College, they featured an event called “Students Of Color Speak Out”. It was sort of like an open mic session for students of color to talk about some of their experiences. Most of the students had some legitimate and heart felt things to say.

But when it came time for the guest PCC alumni speakers, one Tony Funchess rose up and took to the mic. He is now a student at Portland State University, after attending PCC for two years.

Mr. Funchess has been the subject of past stories, namely the one where he was running for Portland State University student body president and was discovered to be a two time child rapist.

That story gained traction in several local news outlets, and his past became well known.

But that didn’t stop PCC from inviting him to rant about oppression:

It’s interesting to note that the SJWs in Portland coddle this guy, and welcome him into their ranks, knowing full well that he is a sex offender. One can’t help but wonder how they would react if he were white.

“White Woman Of Color” Feels Guilty For Not Being Oppressed

vlcsnap-2016-06-29-15h49m42s46The SJWs appear to have crossed over into new territory. This half Croatian, half Lebanese college student gives a speech about how she is a “white woman of color”, and how she is not judged or profiled like other students who wear hijabs. She feels guilty that she is seen as “an innocent doe eyed white girl… I feel a tremendous amount of guilt for not receiving the same treatment that my fellow Arabs are given. And it hurts me, knowing that I cannot feel the same pain that my people possess”

So, is she oppressed because she’s not being oppressed? Do others need to oppress her to relieve her of this guilt? Is it now racist to NOT oppress people? This girl to seems to have the best of both worlds, as she can flaunt “white privilege” when she needs to or she can be an oppressed woman color when that card needs to be played.

This was part of a presentation titled “The White Elephant in the Newsroom: The National News Narrative and the Color of Terrorism” during Portland Community College’s “whiteness history month” in April.

Earlier in the event, they studied the profiles of mass shooters and how the media frames them, and related it to race. Apparently half black is considered white when the person is question is a criminal, because the presenters, Teela Foxworth and Imran Haider, claim that Umpqua Community College shooter Christopher Harper-Mercer is white, even though he is bi-racial.

By that logic, President Obama is just another old, rich white guy, Stephen Curry won the MVP because of his “white privilege” that oppressed LeBron James and Kevin Durant, and Russell Wilson is just another white quarterback.

Lunatic Leftists Protest Right To Work Organization

vlcsnap-2016-06-28-12h09m24s189“GOD IS GENDER F*CKING QUEER!” shouts Rabbi Debra Kolodny, as she takes her turn with the megaphone at a protest against a Freedom Foundation’s fundraiser dinner, which featured Steve Forbes, in Portland, Oregon.

Freedom Foundation is a Washington state based think tank, which has opened branches in Oregon and California in the last year. They are known for supporting Right To Work. According to their webpage, “The Freedom Foundation is working to reverse the stranglehold public-sector unions have on our government. There is no path to expanded freedom, opportunity or prosperity until we make collective bargaining transparent, give government employees a choice to join an employee’s union or not, and prohibit taxpayer’s money from being unwillingly used to influence the political system. Freedom Foundation has the will and skill to take on those who attack our freedom.”

So of course the unions turn out to protest them. About 50 protesters in all, from SEIU, AFL-CIO, IATSE, and AFSCME, along with wacked out advocacy group Jobs With Justice.

Rabbi Kolodny was just one of the handful of special guest speakers at the protest. She goes on a rant about what gender God is, and concludes “GOD IS GENDER F*CKING QUEER!”.

She also blamed the Orlando shooting on the Freedom Foundation, by proclaiming “It’s not just that these folks fund conversion therapy, and that the poor souls who are subjected to that are traumatized and have their souls denied and desacrelized (?)! The fact that conversion therapy exists in this country and is advocated for translates into massacres like what occurred in Orlando at The Pulse LGBTQI nightclub. We now know that the gentleman who pulled the trigger frequented that nightclub, had relationships with men, and his internalized homophobia, his self loathing, propagated by this kind of hate, resulted in a 50 person massacre. I say The Freedom Foundation has BLOOD ON ITS HANDS!”

One of their repeated chants through the evening was “Hey! Wake up and hearing the warning. STOP DENYING GLOBAL WARMING!” Yet the organizers of the protest themselves need to heed their own words, as they used a generator that spewed all sorts of smoke and fumes in order to inflate a giant “fat cat” balloon character.

But back to Rabbi Kolodny. She stressed the importance of “love thy neighbor”, as it is mentioned more times in the scripture than any other commandment. During diatribe about loving neighbors, a small cadre of Freedom Foundation supporters walked by, and the crowd spontaneously broke out in a chant of “SHAME! SHAME! SHAME!”. Only at a wackjob protest does “love thy neighbor” morph into shaming thy neighbor within a matter of seconds.

Part way through the protest, Oregon AFL-CIO president Tom Chamberlain decided that protesting was too much work, and slithered away, leaving the protesting to the common folk underlings.

And one last time going back to Rabbi Debra Kolodny. “What makes me angry is when people in organizations usurp that word, “freedom”, when what they are about is oppression and hate and spiritual violence” she shouted. “The Freedom Foundation is anything but. The Freedom Foundation is about oppression. It’s about hate. It’s about spiritual violence, and, ultimately, it’s about DEATH”

Freedom Foundation’s Oregon director, Anne Marie Gurney, says “Our event meets all metrics for success. The room was packed with supporters and activists for freedom. Another metric of our success is when our opponents respond. Having about five unions and progressive groups represented in the protest group outside shows we are successful in our mission, and we are emboldened.” When asked about funding conversion therapy, she says “We have never funded conversion therapy, to be clear. That is nowhere on our radar. Our laser focus is labor reform. Period.

It turns out that it’s the Murdoch Charitable Trust that has funded it, and they have also donated to Freedom Foundation, so, according to wackjob logic, that means that the Freedom Foundation has funded it.

Fossil Fuel Protesters Sit-In On Train Tracks

-3132c87149ffc3c8The northwest enviro-hippies were back at it again last week. Protesters took to blocking the train tracks in Vancouver, WA, last Saturday in response to the oil train that derailed and caught fire in Oregon earlier in June.

Except the trains they were blocking contained grain and lumber, not oil.

Led by well known environmentalist protester Mia Reback, who was also one of the planners of the kayak flotilla strategy, they staged a sit-in on the tracks for several hours until police eventually arrested 20 of them. You’ll note in the videos that most of those arrested are senior citizens. The protest organizers intentionally plan that out for two reasons; 1) It creates by public sympathy by having pictures go out in the media of the big bad police officer handcuffing a little old lady. 2) The older protesters have nothing to lose. They’re retired. They don’t have to worry about potential employers seeing their mugshot or reading about their arrest history. The younger protesters are more “vulnerable” in that regard.

“Non Binary” Student Named “PROM QUEEN”

2-photos40Feminists at New York’s La Guarida High School are now put in the awkward position. While they support trans students, and, in this case, a “non binary” student, which means they don’t identify as either male or female, they are now getting beaten by them.

Matthew Crisson was born male, but no longer accepts that gender identity. Yet s/he has been named PROM QUEEN at the school, beating several actual females.

The New York Post reports:

Some girls at La Guardia HS of Music & Art and Performing Arts were not amused that a boy stole their stiletto-heeled thunder and became this year’s prom queen — and their claws have come out on social media.

“I know I go to LaGuardia because a boy won prom queen,” snarked Asia Pierre in a Facebook post that attracted 500 homophobic comments and 100 shares before it was removed.

“It just sucks that men win everything and we thought we at least deserve that,” wrote a classmate under the name Taj Mahal.

Matthew Crisson, an 18-year-old Staten Islander who self-identifies as “non-binary” (meaning neither male nor female), was awarded the tiara at the “Fame” school last weekend.

“It was a big deal for me to reach out to everyone and run,” Crisson told The Post.

Mona Davids, a LaGuardia parent who saw the negative Facebook post and coments, notifying the school and the Department of Education’s new LGBTQ community liaison.

“They were very catty and negative comments about something so wonderful and positive,” Davids said. “It was very alarming to me, considering what happened in Orlando and how these things can get out of hand.”

Austin Runs Stings On New Ride Sharing Alternative

acIt’s called Arcade City, and they say it’s an even more anti-establishment version of Uber and Lyft. The middleman is completely cut out.

From their webpage:

What if riders and drivers were free to connect peer-to-peer with no middleman?

We know you’re accustomed to dealing with archaic institutions like governments and corporations.

We believe there’s a better way.

For a few months we’ve been laying the groundwork for a true decentralized ridesharing service — what some are now calling the ‘Uber killer’.

When Uber pulled out of Midland and Corpus Christi, Arcade City drivers entered. Even before we released the first version of our app, drivers took initiative and connected directly with riders on Facebook.

No concern about red tape or corporate BS — just people providing people a needed service.

Well, the city of Austin, TX, fresh off of kicking out Uber and Lyft, is now cracking down on Arcade City by running undercover stings on drivers, citing them and impounding their cars.

KVUE reports:

The service came into play after Austin voted ‘No’ to Proposition 1, and Uber and Lyft left town. Undercover detectives performed a sting operation Friday night: including one on Nueces and 3rd Street. There, they ticketed and impounded the cars of four Arcade City drivers. Most of the drivers used to work for Uber or Lyft.

“When they left, I had no source of income, period,” Cheri Hawes said. “‘Arcade City’ came in and thank God they did, because that was really what supplemented my income. That’s how I take care of my family.”

Hawes said Friday night two guys got in her car and agreed to pay her $15 for the ride. But when she dropped them off, that’s when she saw two police cars behind her.

“I was very upset,” Hawes said.  “I asked him ‘Please do not impound my car. I’m not going to be able to pay these fines, let alone my car getting out of impound and it is my source of income’.”
The officers cited her for not having a valid chauffeur’s permit and for not having operating authority. Her car was also impounded.

It cost $220 to get Hawes’ car out of impound, and each of the citations she received cost up to $500.

Activist Post adds that ride sharing services decreased the number of drunk driving instances in Austin, which have since gone up after Uber and Lyft were banned:

According to local CBS-affiliate KEYE TV, DWI arrests have increased 7.5 percent between May and June in the city of Austin in Texas. What changed? Uber and Lyft left town on May 9.

“The Austin Police Department released new numbers to KEYE TV that show there were 359 DWI arrests from May 9, the day Uber and Lyft shut down, to May 31st of this year,” KEYE TV reported. “Last year during the same time period, there were 334 arrests. That’s a 7.5 percent increase in the weeks following their departure.”

But before the ridesharing apps were essentially banned from Austin, Uber released a statement claiming drunk driving crashes had been decreasing in the region since the app became popular among locals. They urged Austin residents to help stand with them. A Politifact report reviewed Uber’s claim, ruling the ridesharing giant was mostly correct. Since ridesharing entered the Austin market, the rate of DWI crashes dropped 23 percent, suggesting that, perhaps, making rides widely available correlated with the rate shift.

Dem Candidate Spends Father’s Day Celebrating ABORTION

11061282_596763183760622_9042736886000357260_n

“This Father’s Day, I am proud to fight alongside NARAL Pro-Choice America and the countless other allies of reproductive freedom. I am dedicated to supporting and protecting a woman’s right to make her own decisions about whether, when, and with whom to grow a family” says Brad Avakian at the beginning of an op ed he penned on Father’s Day for something called Refinery 29.

He continues with “Like every dad, I want my children, Nathan and Claire, to have equal opportunities in life. Reproductive freedom is important to making this possible — and there is no reproductive freedom without access to safe and legal abortion. I trust my daughter to make the best decision for her future. If this ever means she decides to terminate a pregnancy, I want her to know that I am there for her. And I want the laws of our nation to protect her right to make this decision and get the medical care she needs.”

Avakian is the current Bureau Of Labor and Industry commissioner and is running for Oregon Secretary Of State. He’s the one who has been overseeing the saga of the Sweet Cakes By Melissa snafu, where the lesbian couple was awarded $135,000 because the bakery didn’t want to bake them a cake.

Brad Avakian goes on to say “As it stands, I and countless other men for choice across the nation have our work cut out for us: Thousands of politicians are working feverishly to dismantle reproductive rights and, as a result, to undermine the dignity and freedom of all American women. If they’re not trying to ban abortion outright, even in cases of rape, incest, or threat to a woman’s health, they are trying to find a way to make abortion so expensive, inconvenient, or inaccessible for women that it might as well be banned.

I will continue to fight against these politicians and be a champion of choice for the right of my daughter, my wife, and all other women to control their own destinies. No doctor should have to wear a bulletproof vest to work in fear that extremists might target her for providing abortion services. And no woman should have to travel 500 miles or be forced to wait in order to make her own medical decisions.”

In the Democrat primary race for Secretary Of State, Avakian won a three-way race that also included the Bloomberg backed Val Hoyle and state Senator Richard Devlin. It also appears as though Avakian doesn’t know what the Secretary Of State’s role is, because he’s spent the entire campaign talking about abortion and other things that are unrelated to the office. The Secretary Of State’s job is to oversee elections, audit governmental entities, and run the business registry.

Meanwhile, Avakian is more concerned with racking up endorsements and testimonies from NARAL Pro Choice and their members, as his facebook page is littered with such.

Leftist Writer Tries To Buy AR15, GETS DENIED FOR VIOLENT PAST!

NeilSteinbergNeil Steinberg, writer for the Chicago Sun Times, saw how easy it was for other journalists to waltz into a gun shop and walk out with a child slaughtering, full auto, death machine, exactly like the one that the Navy Marine Rangers use (leftist talk there), so he decided to try it Des Plaines, Illinois. Only this didn’t quite go according to plan.

In addition to a mandatory 24 hour waiting period in Illinois, it turns out Mr. Steinberg has a troubled past of alcohol abuse and domestic violence, so he was denied the sale.

But before he got that far, he was first faced with the same hurdles that other potential gun buyers are faced with; contradictory and unclear gun laws. As he wrote:

I had trouble even figuring out whether bringing an assault rifle into Chicago is legal. The Internet was contradictory. The Chicago corporation counsel’s office punted me on to that black hole of silence, Bill McCaffrey. I found that Illinois has a 24-hour waiting period between buying and taking possession of a gun. Unearthing that fact alone made the exercise seem worthwhile. I was learning something.

After chatting with one of the salesman at Maxon Shooters Supply about the different AR’s and options, Steinberg is asked to show his FOID card, which is, apparently, some kind of Star Of David for gun buyers in Illinois. He decided on a Smith & Wesson M&P15 Sport, one of the lower end models that lacks a lot of the features and quality of a standard AR.

Steinberg tosses in the normal anti rhetoric with:

Driving to Maxon’s, the whole gun debate clarified in bold relief. There is the danger of the gun. itself. And there is the danger the gun protects you from. Another divide. Which danger you feel is greater decides which side of the divide you live on.

Being fact-based I know, you buy a gun, the person you are most likely to shoot, statistically, is yourself. And your family. More pre-schoolers are killed by guns than are police officers. Nor do I need the sense of security, false though it may be, that guns bring. I live in Northbrook, where criminal danger is remote. My boys laugh at us for locking the doors. I don’t plan on keeping this gun a second longer than I have to for this column.

The gun shop knew who he was.

When it came time to make the purchase, Rob, the clerk with the tattoos, handed me over to Mike, who gave his name shaking my hand, I gave mine. “The writer?” he said. If I wanted to lie as part of my job, I’d have gone into public relations. “Yes,” I said, explaining that I plan to buy the gun, shoot at their range, then give it to the police. He suggested I sell it back to them instead and I heartily agreed. Economical. If they would let me photograph myself with it there, the gun need never leave the store.

Steinberg filled out the background check paperwork, which, according the most hysterical anti gunners, doesn’t exist because you can buy these M47’s with no background check (leftist impression again).

A reporter in Philadelphia bought an assault rifle in seven minutes; 40 percent of gun transactions in the U.S. have no background checks. Here, I had paperwork. A federal form asking, was I an illegal alien? No. Was I a fugitive? Again no. Had I ever been convicted on charges of domestic abuse? No. Handed over my credit card: $842.50. Another $40 for the instructor to acquaint me with the gun the next day.

Then came startling news:

At 5:13 Sarah from Maxon called. They were canceling my sale and refunding my money. No gun for you. I called back. Why? “I don’t have to tell you,” she said. I knew that, but was curious. I wasn’t rejected by the government? No. So what is it? “I’m not at liberty,” she said.

Gun dealers do have the right to refuse sales to anyone, usually exercised for people who seem to be straw purchasers. I told her I assume they wouldn’t sell me a gun because I’m a reporter. She denied it. But hating the media is right behind hating the government as a pastime for many gun owners. They damn you for being ignorant then hide when you try to find out.

A few hours later, Maxon sent the newspaper a lengthy statement, the key part being: “it was uncovered that Mr. Steinberg has an admitted history of alcohol abuse, and a charge for domestic battery involving his wife.”

He goes on to cry about being singled out, thinking that the same policies don’t apply to everyone else, then blaming the EVIL, SHADY GUN INDUSTRY for everything:

Well, didn’t see that coming. Were that same standard applied to the American public, there would be a whole lot fewer guns sold. Beside, they knew I planned to immediately sell it back to them.

OK, Maxon has had its chance to offer their reason.

Now I’ll state what I believe the real reason is: Gun manufacturers and the stores that sell them make their money in the dark. Congress, which has so much trouble passing the most basic gun laws, passed a law making it illegal for the federal government to fund research into gun violence. Except for the week or two after massacres, the public covers its eyes. Would-be terrorists can buy guns. Insane people can buy guns. But reporters . . . that’s a different story. Gun makers avoid publicity because the truth is this: they sell tools of death to frightened people and make a fortune doing so. They shun attention because they know, if we saw clearly what is happening in our country, we’d demand change.

H/T to This Ain’t Hell, who suspects that the rag intentionally sent their violent reporter to do this job because they could turn around and scream “LOOK HOW IT EASY IT WAS FOR A KNOWN WIFE BEATER AND ALCOHOLIC TO GET A DEATH MACHINE!”

Play The “WhiteNESS & Social Justice Interactive”!

vlcsnap-2016-06-19-15h55m35s237Ever wanted to play a rousing game of “racial justice dominoes”? Or take the “white privilege survey”? Well now you can! Thanks to this interactive social justice display at Portland Community College’s “whiteness history month”, presented by PCC staffer Jeff Laff, manager of something called “YES To College”. This display also features large banners of white shaming rhetoric, which include mocking work ethic, self reliance, desire to succeed, being punctual (?), mocking those who want to be polite, planning ahead, and other things that lead to one being successful life. Apparently these things are bad and should be avoided. Also featured is the diversity wheel, the “iceberg concept of culture”, and saying that “white privilege, specifically, is an institutional set of unearned benefits granted to white people”. You can also play the memory game, where you get to match the definitions of whitey’s evilness to buzz words like “worship of the written word”, “objectivity”, and “sense of urgency”. Apparently it is bad to have a sense of urgency, and better to just be lazy and late.

If you dare get offended by any of this, that is your “white fragility” showing, and your defensiveness is your weakness.

VIDEO: University Hosts “Socialism In The Air” Conference

12440238_10154760450479251_8919819204112423943_o

Portland State University (duh, where else) hosted a one day conference focusing on marxism and revolution. Sponsored by the International Socialist Organization, the event took place on April 30th and featured such speakers as Paul D’amato and Danny Katch, both of which are authors of popular (?) socialist books.

The facebook event page read:

One Day Conference of Socialist Politics, Debate, and Education

At Portland State University Parkway North in Smith Student Union Building

The popularity of Bernie Sanders’ campaign is evidence of widespread anger toward the deep inequality and oppression in our society. Many people are seeking out an alternative to capitalism and are for the first time embracing socialism. This conference will bring students and workers to discuss and debate strategies for building a socialist movement and a better world.

Video from the first session, featuring Mr. D’amato, features multiple calls to “overthrow the system”.

D’Amato praised Cuba and Vietnam, while blaming the US and the western allies for the fall of the USSR. “They did it, we can do it. Cuba broke away, Vietnam can do it. Vietnam broke away, they can do it. These workers fought, we can fight! They occupied their factory and they won, we can do it and win!” He goes on defend Russian communism by saying “Is socialism what happened in Russia? And there’s no doubt that what they tried to set up in Russia was socialism. It was also one of the poorest industrialized countries in the world, and their hope was we can start here but we can’t finish here. We can cling to power, but in conditions that are impossible… Socialism has to be made on abundance. Without abundance, all the old crap will revive, in spite of the desires and wishes of the revolutionaries themselves… You can’t have socialism built on the collapse of industry and mass starvation, and that’s what happened, and that’s what happened in Russia during the civil war. And a massive counter revolution army, supported by France, and Britain, and the United States, and Japan, under those conditions they managed to hold together, but they held together at the cost of the, sort of, democratic upsurge that had sustained it from the beginning.”

So the largest country by square mileage, which has vast amounts of oil, minerals, metal deposits, and countless other natural resources couldn’t find a way to thrive, and it’s somehow our fault.

This sentiment was further backed up by one of the students later in the event, saying “Why did socialism fail? Can socialism happen here? Yes, it can happen here, but it can’t only happen here. In Russia, you see this successful socialist revolution, but you also see the eight other imperialist countries attack Russia and smash the revolution.”

Another participant, Camille Avian White, wanted to clarify that the International Socialist Organization is Leninist/Trotskyist, not Stalinist.

They also claim that Franklin Delano Roosevelt wasn’t socialist enough, saying he was a stopgap who prevented true revolution and saved capitalism by giving in to enough of the revolutionaries demands to stop any TRUE prospective social change, thus saving the patriarchal system from actual socialism.

D’Amato cited a New York Post article that explained the difference between communism, capitalism, and socialism. “In a capitalist society, the people make those decisions. Businesses, the market decides how much products will cost, how many there are, and where it will be made,” to which the crowd busts out laughing. They go on to praise Bernie Sanders, of course.

This was a local version of a national conference of the same name, slated for the first week of July in Chicago.
