Iowa Democrats Look To Use Closed Juvenile Home for Illegal Immigrants

Iowa Democrat Gubernatorial candidate state Sen. Jack Hatch and former Iowa Democrat congressman Dave Nagle are joining forces with a local chapter of the AFSCME in an effort to reopen a juvenile home for use as a shelter for illegal immigrants.

The Obama administration is scrambling to find space that it can use to house the tens of thousands of illegal immigrants, both adult and children, that are puring across the US-Mexico border.  At least 57,000 illegal immigrant minors have entered the US since October, with an estimated 150,000 expected to come next year, most coming from Central America.

Late last week the Department of Health and Human Services announced that 30,340 illegal immigrant minors have been released to a sponsor across the entire country, over one hundred and twenty of them ending up with a parent, relative, or family friend in Iowa.

The juvenile home that Hatch and Nagle want to have used to house even more illegals was closed earlier this year by Iowa Governor Terry Branstad following reports of abuse at the facility.

The Quad Cities Times has more on Hatch and Nagle’s desire to have Iowa host more illegals:

former U.S. Rep. Dave Nagle of the “Keep IJH Open” group, but the group is working with advocacy groups that have called for the state to welcome the children. AFSCME, which represented employees at the Toledo home for juvenile delinquent girls, supports the idea.

It’s a “valid option,” according to state Sen. Jack Hatch, who was among Democrats who went to court to overturn Gov. Terry Branstad’s closing of the facility amid allegations of abuse by staff members.

Hatch, who is challenging Branstad in the November election, said the idea would get consideration if the state had leadership like that delivered by Republican Gov. Robert Ray, who oversaw the resettlement of Southeast Asian refugees in the 1970s.

“This state deserves that kind of leadership but doesn’t have it right now,” he said.

AFSCME Local 61 President Danny Homan is not optimistic about reopening the Iowa Juvenile Home to host immigrant children.

“I’m under no illusions this governor is going to open the Iowa Juvenile Home to them given all he has said about that he doesn’t want them here,” Homan said.

That won’t stop him from pushing the idea, because “it’s the right thing to do.”

Nagle called the home an ideal setting for the immigrant children because it has housing, kitchen and medical facilities as well as classrooms.

Nagle, Homan and others will continue to push for using the Iowa Juvenile Home.

“We have a facility sitting there that is vacant that would work for them,” Homan said. “If all the parties wanted to make it work, they could make it work.”

“What’s the alternative?”

Hatch and Nagle aren’t alone in trying to bring more illegal immigrants to Iowa.  As previously reported Davenport Mayor Bill Gluba is openly working with the White House to bring up to 200 illegal immigrant minors to his city, to be cared for by local charities and non-profits.

HHS Has Released 30,340 Unaccompanied Minors to Sponsors Across the Country in first 6 Months of This Year

The Department of Health and Human Services Office of Refugee Resettlement, responding to numerous media inquiries, congressional probing, and demands from Governors across the nation has released a listing of how many unaccompanied illegal immigrant minors have been released to sponsors for all 50 states and US territories.

From the start of this year through July 7th 30,340 illegal immigrant minors, most crossing into the US along the Rio Grande valley in Texas from Central America, have been handed over to the custody of a parent, relative, or family friend already in the US.

More than 3,000 of these unaccompanied minors were sent to Florida, New York, and California each.

Maryland and Virgina each have over 2,000.

Georgia, Louisiana, North Carolina, and New Jersey each have more than 1,000 unaccompanied minors in the care of sponsors in those states.

Texas which has taken the brunt of the influx of nearly 60,000 unaccompanied minors since October of last year is also the leader when it comes to how many minors have been released to a sponsor with more than 4,000.

My home state of Illinois, which has at least 748 illegal immigrant minors being sheltered in the city of Chicago alone according to Sen. Mark Kirk, also has 300 more who have been released to a sponsor.

As reported yesterday Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad is upset that 138 unaccompanied minors were released to sponsors in his state without his knowledge.

To try and stop the flow of even more illegals into the country Texas Governor Rick Perry has announced he is calling up the National Guard to assist Texas law enforcement and the Border Patrol deal with the nearly 1,000 illegal immigrants coming into Texas on a daily basis.  However, Breitbart is reporting that those Guardsmen won’t be deployed for 30-45 days.

House Republican leaders are in the final stages of crafting a response to the border crisis and it is likely to include a call for the National Guard to be deployed along with making adjustments to a 2008 law that is letting many of these children remain in the country in addition to bringing in more immigration judges to handle to overflow of cases.

Initially the Obama administration via WH Press Secretary Josh Earnest insisted that the privacy rights of the illegal immigrants trumped Congress and the publics right to know where these illegals where after being detained and processed by the Border Patrol.  That is thankfully changing as evidenced by this listing from HHS and a vow from it that this list will be updated on a monthly basis.

HHS Let 138 Illegal Immigrant Minors Into Iowa; Local Alderman Vows to Lay in Front of Bus to Stop More

The Department of Health and Human Services and its Office of Refugee Resettlement have sent 138 illegal immigrant minors to Iowa “Behind the scenes”.

The Quad Cities Times reports:

Central American children who have crossed the U.S. border illegally are making their way to Iowa “behind the scenes” with the help of family members and support groups to avoid drawing attention or the ire of protesters, an Iowa Latino leader said Tuesday.

Joe Enriquez Henry, state director of the League of United Latin American Citizens of Iowa, or LULAC, a Latino civil rights organization founded in 1929, said he is aware of family members who have driven to the Mexican border to be reunited with unaccompanied children who have sought refuge from the violence in their countries.

Henry said the activity has been forced to operate “in the shadows” in part because of Gov. Terry Branstad’s public opposition to efforts to welcome children to Iowa who have entered the United States illegally.

Branstad’s office said Tuesday an official with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services confirmed that 122 children were released to relatives or other sponsors in Iowa during the past six months.

“To clarify, there have been 122 minors discharged from the Unaccompanied Alien Children program and placed with sponsors in Iowa between January 1 and June 30, 2014,” Kenneth J. Wolfe, deputy director of the Office of Public Affairs within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Administration for Children and Families, said in an email.

Beth Levine of Iowa U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley’s office said, however, that Health and Human Services officials on Tuesday updated the number to 139 through July 18, a figure that reflected children released to sponsors in Iowa but did not address minors who may have been sent to larger facilities.

Iowa Governor Terry Branstad, upon learning of the release of over 100 illegal immigrant minors into his state without his knowledge, was livid.

Majority Leader McCarthy: House Will Secure Border and Reunite Families

At a press conference in Peoria, IL for former congressman Bobby Schilling, new House majority leader Kevin McCarthy stated that the House of Representatives will pass measures in the coming days and weeks that will help secure the southern border with Mexico and that the thousands of illegal immigrant families will be reunited.

Estimates are that 57,000 unaccompanied illegal immigrant minors have entered the US in the last few months, many coming believing that the Obama administration won’t deport them and will instead grant them amnesty, and that doesn’t even include the much larger number of adult illegal immigrants that have been coming over the border as well.

A working group of lawmakers established by Speaker John Boehner is looking at crafting an emergency appropriations bill that would include sending the National Guard to the Texas-Mexico border, making changes to a 2008 law that inhibits the speedy deportation of individuals from Central and South America, bringing in more immigration Judges, as well as measures to further secure the border.

Texas Senator Ted Cruz has his own legislation in the Senate that would further address the problems on the border.

Iowa Mayor Wants To Bring More Illegal Immigrant Minors to Midwest

The Mayor of Davenport, Iowa, Bill Gluba is openly asking the Obama administration to send some of the tens of thousands of illegal immigrant “unaccompanied” minors currently flooding into the Southern border his way.

From WQAD:

News and Weather For The Quad Cities –

Davenport Mayor Bill Gluba hopes the Quad Cities will play a role in helping care for immigrant children held on the U.S.-Mexico border.

Monday, Gluba told News 8 that he reached out to the White House, offering the Quad Cities’ help to house and care for some of those children. He said the Department of Health and Human Services then sent him information about creating a temporary placement facility in the area.

“We are a welcoming country, and I said, ‘Something’s got to be done about it. Let’s start the process,’” said Gluba.

Gluba is now pulling together a team of representatives from area hospitals, schools, charities and churches. Monday, the group met for the first time at City Hall to discuss what they could do.

What Are They Hiding: Obama Admin Won’t Say Where Illegal Minors Are

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest on Wednesday told Fox New’s Ed Henry that the Obama administration won’t tell the public where in the country nearly 60,000 illegal immigrant minors have been sent.

The Daily Caller has more:

The White House won’t reveal where it is housing thousands of Central American juvenile migrants because their privacy rights trump Americans’ right to know what‘s happening in their neighborhoods, press secretary Josh Earnest declared July 16.

“The public does have a right to know what’s happening… [but] at the same time, there are privacy rights that are included in the law that this administration is committed to enforcing and following,” Earnest told Ed Henry, Fox News’ White House correspondent.

It Gets Worse: Illegal Immigrant Minors In Chicago Up To 748

Last night I posted the story of Illinois Senator Mark Kirk stating that 429 “unaccompanied minors” from the Southern Border Invasion had been sent by the Obama administration to Chicago.

This morning Sen. Kirk and Fox News are reporting that that number has increased to 748 illegal immigrants being held/sent to/released onto the streets of Chicago.

From Fox News:

Fox News has learned that 748 unaccompanied minors have been transferred from areas near the border to the Chicago area. Of the original group of 748 kids, 319 have been placed with family members or sponsors while they await an immigration hearing. The other 429 have been placed in facilities run by the Heartland Alliance, a nonprofit organization that receives grants from the Department of Health and Human Services.

Sen. Mark Kirk, R-Ill., told Fox News Friday that he did not know the exact locations of the facilities where the children were being kept, and stated his belief that the White House did not want the children’s living conditions to be made public.

“My worry is the administration doesn’t want people to know what the condition of these place are or how these kids are being treated in detention,” Kirk said. “Kids can sometimes to be pretty cruel to each other, they don’t want those stories to get out and they don’t want us to know what is going on in these detention facilities. These detention facilities should be completely open to the press and to the American people so that we know how what conditions are, we should be able to talk to the kids who are there.

“I can’t explain the incompetence of the Obama administration,” Kirk said later. “This is a tremendous self-inflicted political wound … This narrative, [that] this is Obama’s Katrina, [is] sticking really hard.”

Fox goes on to report that the Obama administration is refusing to tell lawmakers about the movement of all of these illegal immigrants children and where they are being sent after being apprehended by the Border Patrol.

These revelations this morning just go to further illustrate the need for the Freedom of Information Act request with both the Border Patrol and the Department of Health and Humans Services that I have filled for the total number of “unaccompanied minors” sent to Illinois(and to which cities in our state).

I fully accept to have to fight HHS to get them to honor that FOIA.

Stay tuned.

Lib Ghoul Threatens to Rape Teen Daughter of Leading Obamacare Critic

(C. Steven Tucker with Bill Elliot via

Insurance broker and Chicago Tea Party leader C. Steven Tucker is one of the leading critics of Obamacare having done multiple appearances over the last four years on Fox News and Fox Business Channels and regularly appearing on talk radio shows based out of the Midwest(Joe Walsh Show, Chicks On The Right).

Last fall Tucker gained even more notoriety when he helped cancer patient Bill Elliot regain his health insurance after it was cancelled thanks to Obamacare, story here. They both then went on to become apart of another story when they where both audited by the IRS following Bill’s story, and Steve’s help to him, ran on Fox News.

Steven also happens to be the father of two teenage daughters.

So you can imagine his response when a liberal ghoul out of Florida took to Twitter Wednesday and threatened to rape one of his daughters.

After this threat was made Tucker filled a complaint against @common_alias whose real name is Preston Smith of Miami, Florida with the FBI. According to Smith’s Facebook profile his is a member of the American Socialist Democratic Party and a self-described atheist. The threat to rape Steve Tuckers daughter, who I will have you know is very well versed in the use of the Second Amendment(as is the whole Tucker family), appears to have been triggered after Steve sent out the following tweet regarding the call to impeach President Obama which gained traction yesterday following former VP candidate Sarah Palin’s piece at Breitbart.

Preston responded at first with this tweet.

After that is when the rape threat was made.

A review of the rest of Preston’s twitter feed shows someone who is A) a backer of Hillary Clinton for President in 2016, B) really hates religion, C) has contempt for the economic growth of the Reagan years, and D) appears to support granting amnesty to illegal immigrants.  O’ and he does all of that with a potty mouth(or keyboard).

And the left says we conservatives are the ones waging a “war on women”.

Stay classy Preston and please let the FBI know what you really think when they come knocking on your door in the next day or two.
